Columbinus weaves together excerpts from discussions with parents, survivors and community leaders in Littleton, Colorado, as well as diaries and home video footage to bring to light the dark recesses of American adolescence. In the wake of dozens of recent school shootings, director Nora Lise Ulrey stages the play in two site-specific locations, with the audience and performers moving between acts.
Random Acts honors the 20th Anniversary of the events at Columbine High by donating a portion of the proceeds to The Brady Campaign.
In 2018, we were thrilled to partner with director Jason Gerace, About Face Youth Theatre and Pride Films and Plays to present the 20th Anniversary Reading of The Laramie Project. Additionally, we launched our ongoing #SafeSpace variety series, hosting upwards of eighty performers while raising funds for organizations such as Planned Parenthood, Trans Lifeline, Project Fierce Chicago, RAICES, and the Chicago Abortion Fund.
Special thanks to our 2018 Sponsors: All Dressed Up Costumes, Anonymous, Carin Silkaitis, The Heath Fund, Julane Sullivan, The Puzzle Box Dance Studio, Pride Films & Plays, Pride Wine, Shawn and Brenda Renaud
